Job Opportunity:
Main Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor
* Manage financial and contractual aspects of construction projects to ensure smooth project execution.
* Support with tendering, cash flow forecasting, and cost plan preparations to optimize project outcomes.
* Procure materials and services to secure them for the project.
* Leverage leadership skills to mentor junior quantity surveyors and commercial individuals, promoting growth and development.
* Maintain accurate financial records by handling payment applications through to final accounts.
* Negotiate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to meet contractual requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, backed by a strong understanding of quantity surveying principles.
* A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying is essential to demonstrate expertise.
* A background in civil engineering within the utilities industry, including knowledge of relevant contracts and regulations.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, as well as Microsoft Office Suite literacy to analyze data and create reports.
* Experience with FIDIC Yellow Book Contract Administration to manage complex contractual agreements.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and teams.
