Vantive are looking for a
Trade and Compliance Specialist
to ensure our business's import and export operations adhere to complex international laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include managing documentation such as customs declarations and bills of lading, classifying goods for tariffs, monitoring trade rule changes, conducting audits, providing advice to business teams, and mitigating international trade risks to ensure legal compliance and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Management

* Manage the IPR process and communications with the Irish Authorities
* Follow up on CoE (Confirmation of Exit) with the customs brokers
* Complete the Quarterly IPR bill of discharge
* Serve as the day-to-day interface between Vantive and its Customs brokers
* Customs broker compliance - Audit Import and export declaration on accuracy, HTS and ECN Classification
* Manage yearly preferential origin calculation campaign
* Collect and issue LTSD where needed
* Control preferential origin statements for exports to FTA countries
* Review the documentation for correctness and chasing missing invoices/documents
* Enter shipment data into IT system (e.g. Excel File or Dynamics system in development)
* Support document creation where certificates are requires (MED1 or ATR's)
* Carry out Sanctioned Party Screening
* Receive data from and transmit data to Vantive's customs brokers
* Align customs broker receipts with Vantive's warehouse and receiving systems
* Support Quarterly CBAM reporting
* Verification of IPR related declarations Reconciliation of IPR declarations with Vantive receiving systems
* Serve as the day-to-day interface between Vantive and its Customs brokers
* Consolidate and manage shipment documentation
* Manage the communication (emails) on shipments
* Review the documentation for correctness and chasing missing invoices/documents
* Monitor shipment through clearance process
* Site contact for Revenue

Product Classification

* Classify products using appropriate tariff codes and manage the process of securing necessary end-user undertakings and export licences

Risk Assessment

* Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks in international trade activities, ensuring smooth and legal transactions

Audits

* Conduct internal audits to verify that processes are followed and to ensure overall compliance with domestic and international trade rules and be the Lead for External audits

Stakeholder Communication

* Work closely with internal teams (e.g., supply chain, procurement, operations) and external parties (e.g., customs authorities, customers) to ensure all trade requirements are met

Policy & Procedure Improvement

* Review and recommend improvements to trade procedures and standards to ensure efficiency and continuous compliance

Skills And Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree is required in international trade, customs, or a related field.
* Strong ability to interpret complex regulations, perform risk assessments, and analyze trade data.
* Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for managing documentation and ensuring accuracy.
* Effective written and verbal communication to advise teams, interact with regulators, and manage relationships with stakeholders.
* Ability to identify and resolve complex trade compliance issues and find solutions to bottlenecks.
* Strong ethical standards and a commitment to ensuring compliance.
