 
        
        Interim Discipline Manager, Principal Psychologist, Children's Disability Network Teams
Full-time 12 month Fixed Term Contract (1 WTE 35 hours)
The Children's Disability Network Manager (CDNM) is the Operational Line Manager for the Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT). The Interim Principal Psychologist works in collaboration with CDNMs in the Health Region and other Discipline Managers in CDNTS, Primary Care and CAMHS to support the service priorities outlined in this specification.
The Interim Principal Psychologist will provide professional leadership, guidance, and support to Psychology staff within a multidisciplinary service model. The role focuses on developing high-quality, integrated services for children with complex needs and their families, ensuring professional standards are maintained, and collaborating with key services such as Primary Care and CAMHS.
Key responsibilities include facilitating continuous improvement, managing clinical pathways, contributing to policy and procedure development, and supporting the management of referral intake, caseloads, and staff development. The main initial focus is continuous improvement, clinical governance, and service development, reporting to the Kaizen Lead as part of the Kaizen Promotion Office. Training in Lean methodology is provided.

Essential Requirements
 * A recognised University degree or diploma with first or second class honours in psychology, with honours obtained in that subject.
 * A recognised postgraduate professional psychological qualification appropriate to the area of professional psychology for this position.
 * At least eight years of satisfactory postgraduate experience in the relevant area, including at least three years in a senior capacity, inclusive of time spent pursuing the postgraduate qualification.
 * Demonstrated knowledge and management ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Additional Candidate Expectations
 * Experience working in Children’s Disability Services and an understanding of the complexities of children accessing a CDNT Service.
 * Knowledge of SLT requirements on CDNTs, the service model, and the policies underpinning CDNT delivery.
