Senior Occupational Therapist
1 x Full Time Post, 35 hours per week
Salay is commensurate with experience on the above scale
Role
To carry out assessments and interventions, while working as a part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering a high-quality Housing First service in the Northwest of Ireland.
Housing First is a model of housing that provides housing with wrap around supports to those who have been long- term homeless and who have a history of complex trauma and rough sleeping.
The Senior OT role will require carrying out cognitive and function assessments and creating and implementing individualised care plans.
Using a trauma informed approach to work one to one with individuals in their homes and the wider community, in supporting them with maintaining their homes, community integration and emotional regulation.
Location
Northwest Housing First is delivered across the region of the Northwest of Ireland, covering Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
Offices are based in Sligo town covering counties Sligo and Leitrim and Letterkenny town, covering county Donegal.
Candidates can apply for either town as their primary base but would be required to carry out assessments regionally.
Preferred location will need to be stated upon application
The service is currently provided Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
With the intention of the service being extended to Saturdays in the future.
Saturdays will be worked on a staff rotational basis.
Successful applicants will:
Be registered or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU ()
And
Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
And
Candidates must
Be fully competent and capable of undertaking duties as specified within the job description and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Hold a full Irish driver's licence and access to own
can
Experience working in mental health and or with clients in active addiction.
Experience and understanding of working with clients with a dual diagnosis.
