Naas General Hospital
There is currently one temporary full-time vacancy available in the Haematology Department in Naas General Hospital. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Naas General Hospital from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post
The person, in co‑operation with the Senior Medical Scientist, the Chief Medical Scientist, clinical staff and the Laboratory Manager, will participate in the management and delivery of a quality laboratory service that supports the clinical needs of our patients.
Eligibility Criteria
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
* Candidates for appointment must:
1. Be registered on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU.
2. Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 must submit proof of registration with the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU.
3. Possess one of the following NFQ Level 9 postgraduate qualifications or equivalent: MSc Clinical Laboratory Science (Dublin Institute of Technology / Technological University Dublin); MSc Clinical Chemistry (Trinity College); MSc Biomedical Science (Ulster / CIT / UCC / MTU); MSc Molecular Pathology (DIT / TCD); MSc Medical Science (ATU).
4. OR possess Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine awarded before July 2018.
5. OR have attained the Fellowship examination of the Institute of Biomedical Science (Awarded prior to 1999).
6. Possess four years full‑time clinical experience as a medical scientist in a clinical diagnostic laboratory since qualifying.
7. Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
8. Have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
9. Provide proof of statutory registration on the Medical Scientists Register before a contract of employment can be issued (Applicable to Section 38 applicants only).
10. Maintain annual registration on the Medical Scientists Register for practitioners and confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE via the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate.
* Condition: Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such that they can render regular and efficient service.
* Character: Candidates must be of good character.
