Maintenance Technician Co. Kildare Job Purpose / Scope Support site operations by ensuring plant and equipment operate reliably through preventative and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and accurate record keeping. Contribute to overall team effectiveness and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance. Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, calibration, and repair of machinery, facilities, and utilities. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, circuits, and production equipment. Conduct routine inspections and on-the-spot testing of mechanical and electrical systems. Adhere to all health and safety standards and regulations at all times. Support cost control by contributing to analysis of maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities. Provide guidance and support to team members and junior technicians where required. Monitor and track tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring availability and timely replenishment. Execute both planned preventative maintenance and unplanned breakdown repairs. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and recommendations. Participate in project work and continuous improvement initiatives as required. Ensure adequate stock levels of critical mechanical and electrical spares and report shortages. Key Skills & Experience Required Trade-qualified electrician or fitter with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge. Experience working with mechanical systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and automation. Minimum of 23 years experience in a maintenance role within a production or manufacturing environment. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation. Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to mentor or support junior team members is advantageous. High level of professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality.
