Job Title: Temporary Spring Farm Worker - Spring Calving System Location: Roscrea Area Employment Type: Temporary / Seasonal Pay: €15-€16 per hour DOE About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a progressive, large-scale dairy enterprise in the Roscrea region.
The farm operates a modern, high-efficiency spring-calving Irish dairy system and is seeking a temporary farm worker to assist during the busy spring period.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern dairy operation, working as part of a supportive team and learning key aspects of farm work.
Key Responsibilities Assist with milking and routine herd management.
Support calf rearing from birth through weaning, including feeding and health monitoring.
Help implement grassland management tasks such as topping, paddock work, and feeding.
Assist with breeding tasks, including heat detection and record keeping.
Operate machinery such as loaders and feeding systems where required.
Maintain high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and farm safety.
Work under supervision, taking instruction as required, while also showing initiative.
Working Hours Start time: 6:45am Breaks: 2-2.5 hours (varies by day) Finish time: Approximately 5:00pm Weekend work: May be required depending on herd and farm needs Candidate Requirements Essential: Previous experience in dairy farming.
Willingness to work hard and learn on the job.
Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative when required.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to animal welfare.
Desirable: Experience with calf rearing.
Machinery experience.
