Established in Portarlington, Ireland in 2003, Robinson Distribution Ltd. has continuously expanded and has developed into a market leading trailer and crane manufacturer, supplying an ever growing customer base in the transport and forestry sector across Ireland and the UK.Robinson is an ambitious family owned and managed business with a long and proud history of transport, Agri-products and forest machinery.Throughout its history, Robinson's has been an innovative company with continuous research and development being at the core of the business.Our track record of trailer and crane design and manufacture provides us with a strong competitive advantage in terms of new product development.All our trailers and cranes are designed by our team of experienced engineers.We are located @ Portnahinch, Portarlington R32CD40, in a beautiful location free from traffic and urban pressures.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the management team to design and develop the productReverse engineer the project so that bill of materials are in the ERP system and drawings are available for assembly before the project goes liveEnsure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation, EU & UK marketsCreate and interpret production drawings, including schematics and electrical/hydraulic systemsUtilize SolidWorks for 3D modelling and designPerform FEA analysis and prepare detailed reportsGenerate BOM (Bill of Materials) for productionOptimize nesting and machine programming for efficient manufacturingSourcing products and setting up part numbers for purchasing departmentSkills RequiredStrong proficiency in SolidWorks with an excellent command of the softwareExperience with FEA analysis and preparation of comprehensive reportsKnowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems in the context of machinery designProficient in reading and understanding legislation relevant to the industryFamiliarity with production drawings and ability to create accurate schematicsUnderstanding of nesting and machine programming, with the ability to optimize these processesPrevious experience managing a new project end to endStrong mechanical aptitude and willing to take a hands on approach to issues that arise during the build stage.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to deliver work to high standardsFlexible with excellent time management skillsSolutions driven, can do attitude with a focus on continuous improvementUnderstand the importance of this position and the impact on other departments, from fabrication assembly, purchasing and finance.Strong hands on experience with machinery, plant, HGV, agricultural & familiar with how they work.Experience in a similar or related field (agri/quarry/plant machinery).
