Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team, responsible for integrating and transforming data from diverse sources into a central data warehouse optimised for analytics and insights. This role involves delivering end-to-end data projects, collaborating with analysts to support decision-making, ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy standards, and providing technical support for data systems. The ideal candidate will also contribute to enhancing internal capabilities through documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Integrate and transform structured and unstructured data from multiple sources into the data warehouse, optimising for analytics and insights.
* Deliver end-to-end data projects, including development, testing, deployment, and maintaining technical documentation.
* Collaborate with data analysts to support insight generation and data-driven decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards in collaboration with IT, Information Security, and Data Protection teams.
* Provide first and second line support for data systems managed by the Data Analytics and Intelligence Team.
* Enhance data governance and internal capabilities through SOP development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
YOUR PROFILE
* Strong programming skills in both SQL and Python;
* Experience working with, and certification in, the Azure suite of tools including, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, MS Fabric, Power BI and Azure DevOps and integration with GIT
* Experience with relational data systems and data architecture paradigms (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Delta Lakehouse)
* Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture and development, data quality principles, Agile processes, and DataOps best practices including coding standards, version control, testing, and operations.
* Experience with enterprise systems and diverse data sources, including SAP ERP, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and on-prem databases (structured and unstructured).
