Senior Automation Test Engineer Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to join our team in Galway. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving automation across various projects, developing and enhancing test frameworks, managing automation environments, and providing coaching to engineers.
This is a key member role that involves collaborating across multiple teams and being passionate about driving continuous improvement in the field of test automation.
* Lead the efforts for automation on your project: Take ownership of improving product quality, testing framework, environments, and educating engineers.
* Work cross-functionally: Not just within Product and Engineering but also with DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance.
* Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, tools, and infrastructure. Create robust and scalable automated tests that cover various aspects of products' functionality.
* Code Review and Collaboration: Participate in code reviews to ensure that automated test code follows best practices, is maintainable, and integrates seamlessly into the development process. Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues found in automated tests.
* Test Case Design: Create well-structured and comprehensive test plans and test cases that cover various scenarios, user interactions, and edge cases.
* Continuous Integration/Delivery: Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Monitor and maintain the automated test suites to ensure timely execution and reliable results for each build.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, testing methodologies, and emerging technologies. Contribute to the enhancement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in SDET, QA Automation, infrastructure, DevOps, platform or similar technical roles and a proven history of creating frameworks from scratch or leading groups.
The technical requirements include extensive experience with modern technology stacks, E2E automated testing frameworks such as Cypress (ideal), Playwright, WebDriverIO, or SeleniumService/API testing, effectively navigating and using observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Splunk), and strong understanding of all aspects of testing ranging vertically from UI Tests to Unit Tests and horizontally from Mobile to Performance to Security.
