Overview
Working as part of the EI Electronics Test Engineering team the Test Technician will provide first level support to the various ATE (Automated Test Equipment) equipment across the factory. The role involves performing initial troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Pneumatic faults, with escalation to second level support as required. The position follows a two-cycle shift pattern (days and evenings rotating).
Responsibilities
* Provide hands-on technical support to the production areas.
* Troubleshoot technical faults to ensure fast response and resolution.
* Maintain all production ATE test equipment in excellent working condition to ensure quality, output, and yield.
* Assist in installation, setup, and commissioning of new production test equipment.
* Assist with calibration of Test Measurement equipment as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and proactively address ongoing issues in supported areas.
The Person / Qualifications
* Demonstrable electronics and/or electrical training or experience.
* Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
* Workshop machining skills would be advantageous.
* Experience using hand and power tools.
* Computer literacy.
* Strong enthusiasm, drive, and a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to perform occasional manual labour.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to take and follow specific directions and to stay quality-focused.
