The Role
The Cost Engineer will play a central role in the financial and contractual management of engineering projects.
Working closely with Project Owners and senior leadership, you will support projects from tender stage through to completion, ensuring robust commercial control throughout the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate budget forecasts and provide ongoing cost control
Monitor project expenditure, variations and value-engineering opportunities
Conduct commercial reviews of tenders and support bid preparation
Prepare and administer contract documentation
Manage applications for payment and subcontractor valuations
Support supplier and subcontractor negotiations
Produce commercial progress reports for senior management
Identify commercial risks and opportunities
Ensure compliance with company commercial policies and standards
About You
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
5-10 years' experience in a QS or Cost Engineer role
Strong understanding of contract frameworks (NEC, FIDIC or equivalent)
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project and cost-management tools
Strong analytical, numerical and commercial awareness
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
