As a senior ecologist, you will be responsible for managing contracts and delivering high-quality ecological consultancy services. Your expertise in ecology will be essential in providing input for various projects and conducting site surveys and fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering contract objectives by planning, coordinating and supervising the execution of site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
* Providing expert ecological input to inform project decisions and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Developing and implementing Construction Environmental Management Plans to minimize environmental impact.
* Undertaking Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments, as well as writing technical reports and other deliverables.
* Managing quality and ensuring timely delivery of contracts while maintaining the highest standards.
Requirements:
* A degree in ecology or a related field is required.
* At least five years of postgraduate experience are necessary.
* Consultancy experience is highly desirable.
* Membership of CIEEM, CIWEM or an equivalent professional body is expected.
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland is crucial.
* Excellent technical report writing skills and experience in preparing Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments are essential.
* Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and possess excellent communication, organizational and project management skills.
* A full driving licence is also required.
