In the SES team you will be responsible for a fast‑growing program with broad-reaching impact across the service. As a member of the SES engineering team, you will work with customers and other technology leaders at Amazon to translate strategic business needs into features and projects, and then lead your team to deliver those features quickly.
We are seeking a hands‑on engineering manager for a mid‑sized team, with experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale, fault‑tolerant, distributed web systems. You will lead a team of SDEs, directing their work to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, functional, and innovative email technology.
Leaders in this role model responsible use of AI in planning and operations, embed intelligent tooling into day‑to‑day engineering practices, and coach teams to apply AI‑first problem‑solving while maintaining high judgment and ownership of outcomes.

On‑Call Responsibility

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of engineering experience
3+ years of engineering team management experience, including coaching and career development
Deep knowledge of engineering practices across the software/hardware/networks development lifecycle (coding standards, code review, source control, build, testing, certification, operations, and livesite)
Experience with modern dev tools, automation, or AI‑assisted technologies to accelerate workflows and enhance team decision‑making
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analysis, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large‑scale web and distributed systems
Experience designing and building fault‑tolerant distributed systems
