NHS GG&C Older People's Inpatient Psychology (OPIP) Team are pleased to advertise Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist roles across Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) Wards.
Shift pattern
Can be worked across Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
The post holders will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy, at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers; working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will be a member of a team of psychologists, led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who are responsible for scoping current provision/need in in-patient services; working with stakeholders to develop and implement a matched and stepped care model of Psychological Interventions and Therapies provision (PI/PTs); providing staff training, supervision and implementation support; evaluating the impact of service improvements; and delivering a specialist psychological therapy service for clients with the most complex presentations.
Qualifications
The successful applicants will be a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with knowledge, skills and experience gained from working with a variety of client groups, across the whole life course, presenting with the full range of clinical severity in a range of care settings; preferably with experience of working in specialist older people's mental health services.
They will have experience of undertaking clinical leadership roles within multi-disciplinary or multi-agency contexts; and providing consultation and supervision to colleagues on psychological aspects of care.

Additional information
As from 1st April ****, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week.
Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata.
However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
