Orange Recruitment have partnered with an established international engineering company delivering Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation solutions to clients across the Energy, Power, Renewables, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Data Centre sectors. As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join their expanding operations. Responsibilities: Develop and review schematic drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation. Carry out HV system studies, including protection coordination, arc flash, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level analysis. Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for GIS and AIS substations. Deliver detailed electrical designs for both high and low voltage systems, including control and protection schemes. Assist in the specification, selection, and procurement of electrical equipment and components. Prepare and interpret technical specifications, enquiry packages, and contract documentation. Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and support planning through the use of tools such as MS Project. Produce method statements, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with project safety requirements. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design and technical issues efficiently. Manage on-site electrical engineering tasks - planning, testing, commissioning, and system handover. Contribute to bid preparation, approval documentation, and construction-issue drawings. Evaluate design effectiveness and make improvements as needed. Supervise junior engineers or technicians during the design and development phases. Participate in prototype testing, review results, and drive continuous improvement. Requirements: Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (Level 8 or equivalent). At least five years' experience working on high-voltage or renewable energy projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational ability with meticulous attention to detail. The confidence to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
