Clinical Participation in Joint Orthodontic/Prosthodontic clinics for patients born with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies, head and neck cancer patients and advice on the dental management of patients who have complex head and neck trauma. Support the existing dental services for Cleft, Craniofacial, Trauma and Cardiology patients Oversee and deliver urgent dental care required to allow patients undergo interventional cardiology/cardiac procedures. Specialist pre-radiation/dental assessment for in-patients undergoing resective head and neck surgery, and provision of Radiotherapy stents Delivery of tertiary prosthodontic care to St Jamess Head and Neck cancer patients Supervision and responsibility for the clinical work of dental NCHD staff attached to the Prosthodontic Department in consultation with Consultant colleagues. Partake in multi-disciplinary team (MDT) conferences and take responsibility for the maintenance of appropriate liaison arrangements between specialties as required Undertake teaching duties and partake of undergraduate and postgraduate training as required. Engagement in clinical audit, risk management and quality assurance programmes in the Hospital. Maintenance of patient records and provide reports and other information as may be required by the Hospital with regard to specialty activity. Support and develop research in the specialty Support the continued expansion and development of the Cleft/Craniofacial/Cardiology and Head and Neck Oncology prosthodontic services also covering advice on management of Head and Neck Trauma patients Provision of support to the Director of Surgery in the development of the specialty, in line with the strategic objectives for the Hospital, to assist in delivering patient care Education Participate in Continuous Professional Development in line with professional competency requirements. Maintain registration on the Register of Dentists in Ireland Participate in and facilitate Continuous Professional Development Participate in Hospital educational programmes for all related groups of staff Audit Plan, develop and maintain responsibility for clinical audit programmes within the Department in conjunction with consultant colleagues and in accordance with the Hospitals clinical governance structure. Assist in the collation of all data/information required in accordance with regulatory, statutory and corporate policies and procedures Teaching Contribute to the training of SpRs, Registrars and SHOs in the Prosthodontic department Participate in teaching, including undergraduate/postgraduate teaching Management and Administration Work within the framework of the hospitals service plan and/or levels of service (volume, types etc.) as determined by St Jamess Hospital. Participate in the development and operation of the Clinical Directorate structure and in such management or representative structures as are in place or being developed. Participate in and facilitate production of all data/information required to validate delivery of duties and functions and inform planning and management of service delivery. To collaborate with Hospital Management, Director of Nursing, Medical and Surgical Staff of the hospital in all matters pertaining to the general efficiency of the hospital.
