Telecommunications Network Engineer
As a Telecommunications Network Engineer with ESB, you will play a critical role in designing and developing our telecoms network.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop the telecom's transmission network, including solutions for new products and services as identified by the Business Development Team.
* Develop technology roadmaps, including technology trials and proofs of concepts for telecommunications solutions.
* Complete and evaluate tenders for the procurement of telecoms equipment and services, including writing vendor approval papers.
* Draft and maintain engineering and other business-relevant processes, and compile regular reports on telecoms network performance.
* Provide technical support to the Sales Team, both pre- and after-sales, including remote support during installation and troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A detailed understanding of Layer 1 transport, Carrier Ethernet, Data Networking, WAN/LAN technologies and networks.
* Extensive experience in the engineering and delivery of DWDM ROADM optical transmission, Layer 2 & SDH networks.
* A good understanding and experience of Performance Management requirements, tools and systems associated with such networks.
* Experience of NMS (Network Management Systems) associated with such networks.
* A working knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
* Certification in fibre characterisation.
* A reasonable working knowledge of Layer 3 networks.
