Senior Principal Operations Engineer – Identity Governance
This role leads and directs the IGA Cork team in the day-to-day management and resolution of identity incidents, ensuring secure and timely access to enterprise resources.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the IGA Cork team in incident, change, and problem management to support 24/7 operational resilience.
Participate in a structured on-call rotation covering weekends and country holidays, supporting a follow-the-sun model across Kuala Lumpur, Cork, and the U.S. IAM teams.
Own day-to-day IAM operations, collaborating with the Operations Manager, Service Leads, and other technical leads to drive compliance, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
Provide technical leadership in escalations, incident management, change management, problem resolution, and continuous improvement.
Monitor IAM identity governance systems performance and health, performing maintenance tasks, responding to alerts, troubleshooting issues, and restoring services promptly.
Ensure all IAM components are up-to-date with latest patches and security updates.
Analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and incident reports, and provide status updates to management.
Collaborate with other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operation of services.
Conduct root-cause analysis, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Support audit and compliance requests pertaining to Identity services and ensure solutions are tested and validated before deployment.
Develop and implement process improvements and best practices to enhance problem-management processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
5+ years of proven experience supporting, delivering, and securing Identity and Access Management services.
Deep expertise in identity provisioning, access management, and identity governance and administration.
Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager, Entra ID, and SailPoint IIQ.
Experience with IT service management (ITIL).
Effective collaboration with technical counterparts, leaders, and stakeholders.
Ability to work with a distributed and virtual team.
Critical thinking, analytical skills, and thought leadership.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
Understanding of cloud-based architecture with experience in AWS and/or Azure and awareness of cloud platform security and controls.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
