Senior Civil Engineer (Water) | Cork
Vickerstock are delighted to be partnering with a dynamic and technically focused civil engineering consultancy with an expanding Cork office. This business is experiencing strong demand across water and infrastructure sectors and is now seeking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to support project delivery and continued growth throughout Ireland.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to work on a diverse and technically challenging portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects while helping to strengthen the Cork team's capability and presence.

Your new role as Senior Civil Engineer
As Senior Civil Engineer, you will take a lead role in the detailed design and delivery of clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects for public and private clients. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural and geotechnical engineering colleagues, to develop robust, sustainable engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:

1. Leading the technical design and engineering work on water infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, distribution networks, and sewerage systems.
2. Preparing and reviewing design calculations, detailed drawings, specifications and reports.
3. Managing project delivery from feasibility through detailed design and into construction support.
4. Liaising with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet industry standards and project requirements.
5. Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and supporting a collaborative team environment.
6. Ensuring design outputs align with best practice, health & safety requirements, and sustainability objectives.

What you'll need to succeed as a Senior Civil Engineer
To be considered for this position you should demonstrate:

7. A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
8. Significant post-graduate experience in civil engineering, ideally within a consultancy environment delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
9. Chartered status or working towards chartership with Engineers Ireland (or equivalent professional body).
10. Strong technical design experience across water and wastewater sectors.
11. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and project teams.
12. Competence in relevant design software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, hydraulic modelling tools is an advantage).
13. A collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong organisational skills.
