We are looking for an experienced quantity surveyor to join our team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Cost Management: Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and overall financial performance to ensure costs remain on track.
Subcontractor Oversight: Lead procurement, contract negotiation, and management of subcontractors; assess progress and ensure payments align with contract terms.
Commercial Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed commercial reports to support project decision-making and provide visibility to senior management.
Risk Management: Identify potential financial and contractual risks, implementing mitigation strategies to safeguard profitability.
Contract Administration: Manage contract variations, claims, and final accounts efficiently and accurately.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with clients, consultants, design teams, and project partners to ensure financial objectives align with project milestones.
Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory standards, and financial best practices.
Estimating Support: Assist with cost estimation using tools such as Candy Estimating or similar software (experience advantageous but not essential).
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred; SCSI chartership (or working towards) advantageous.
Experience: 6–10 years' experience in commercial building or civil engineering projects, particularly design-build or large-scale infrastructure.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of financial and project management systems (e.g., Candy, IFS).
Financial Expertise: Proven ability in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Commercial Awareness: Excellent understanding of contract conditions, market trends, and industry best practices.
Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability to support informed decision-making.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
