Global Field Operations Field Engineer, EMEA GFO Eng Team
EMEA GFO is seeking a passionate, results-oriented engineer to drive operational excellence in colocation-based data center operations. This position serves as a technical resource supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) within its distributed Global Field Operations. The role focuses on ensuring high availability and reliability to meet or exceed service level expectations.
The Global Field Engineer will collaborate with Business Development on site qualification and selection, oversee operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment across multiple data centers, and identify projects to maintain high performance while minimizing costs. The engineer will also promote innovation to reduce operational costs and demonstrate strong ownership.
This role is the front-line technical expert for electrical and mechanical systems, working with colocation providers and business teams to maintain critical facilities, including generators, switchgear, UPS, batteries, cooling systems, pumps, and motors.
Please note: This role requires up to 60% travel within the EMEA region.

Key Job Responsibilities
1. Supervise, advise, and collaborate with colocation operators during servicing or preventive maintenance.
2. Assist in root cause analysis for operational issues.
3. Conduct periodic onsite reviews and audits of electrical and mechanical systems.
4. Supervise design and implementation of retrofits in existing facilities.
5. Qualify new sites for deployment.
6. Drive operational excellence across all data center sites.
7. Perform first-level troubleshooting for facility and rack-level events.
8. Approve all Change Management Tasks for site maintenance and changes.
9. Participate in weekly calls with TPMs and CAD designers, plan and retrofit cages within the EMEA edge space.

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including UPS, generators, chillers, and fan controls.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in data center operations or mission-critical facilities support.
* Project management experience.
