Meet the Team
RTÉ Audio’s portfolio reaches over 2 million listeners every week across RTÉ Radio 1, 2fm, Lyric fm and Raidió na Gaeltachta making it the most listened to radio group in Ireland. RTÉ Radio 1 is the most-popular station in Ireland, reaching 1.3 million listeners every week, and has grown its share of 35–54-year-olds, outperforming all other stations in that demographic. RTÉ 2FM retains its position as the most-listened-to by 15–34-year-olds, now reaching 714,000 listeners every week. RTÉ Audio also includes the much-loved RTÉ Concert Orchestra and boasts a significant digital audio portfolio including greatest hits station RTÉ Gold, and successful podcasts from Doc on One.
Reporting to the Head of Audio Product, the role of Audio Product Manager will support the publishing and delivery of RTÉ’s digital audio output - and the development and launch of RTÉ’s new audio app, implementation of new publishing tools and systems, and refreshed content offering.
About The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Maintain live and on-demand audio content delivery and operations for RTÉ Radio Player, RTÉ.ie, Podcast Platforms and Smart Speakers
* Play a leading role in re-developing and updating RTÉ’s digital audio platforms and services as RTÉ undergoes ongoing digital transformation
* Support and contribute to the development of new publishing workflows and content management systems through collaboration with developers, business analysts, designers, engineers and delivery managers
* Co-ordinate the migration of existing users from legacy publishing tools to new audio CMS
* Manage curation, rights and content planning for RTÉ’s audio platforms
* Engage with Radio and Podcast content teams, and with scheduling and operations teams, to provide support on best practice metadata and publishing workflows
* Collaborate with Marketing and Design teams on key art and graphic requirements and delivery for RTÉ’s digital audio inventory
* Work alongside commercial teams to support the accurate and optimal delivery of advertising and sponsorship in RTÉ’s digital audio content
* Working collaboratively with the Head of Diversity and Inclusion to deliver on RTÉ’s diversity and inclusion goals and support RTÉ’s efforts to serve diverse audiences
* Ensure consistent implementation of RTÉ’s strategy and policies in accordance with our statutory obligations and regulations
About You
* Significant experience working with online media and publishing teams
* Considerable knowledge of Audio publishing through RSS or third-party audio CMS, and demonstrable experience with live streaming
* Leadership skills gained through team and/or project management experience
* Passionate and knowledgeable about Irish radio and podcasts, and a keen follower of trends and innovation in digital audio
* Product-focused and driven by the challenge of how RTÉ can best utilise our platforms and services to reach wider audiences with our music, radio and podcast content
* A team-player who brings a positive, energetic approach to collaboration across RTÉ
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do approach to problem solving and achieving goals
* Analytical and data-led when making decisions

This appointment will be offered on 3-year full-time fixed term contract at Manager Grade 3 level. The salary scale is from €50,285 to €84,381 gross per annum.
