Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer – Project Delivery LeadThis is a senior technical leadership role focused on delivering high-impact manufacturing systems, automation, and digitalisation projects within a regulated manufacturing environment. The position plays a key role in advancing Industry 4.0 capabilities while leading cross-functional project teams and managing complex technology portfolios.The role is primarily site-based in Ireland, with potential involvement in projects across additional manufacturing locations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of IS, automation, and manufacturing systems projects.Maintain accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resource management across multiple concurrent initiatives.Own end-to-end project delivery from business case development through qualification and transition into live manufacturing operations.Technical & Strategic DeliveryProvide technical leadership across manufacturing systems, automation, and digital solutions in a GMP-regulated environment.Translate strategic technology opportunities and emerging solutions into practical, executable project plans.Apply global standards and corporate blueprints while adapting solutions to local manufacturing and business needs.Perform system and feasibility assessments, define scope, prioritise deliverables, and recommend optimal technical solutions.Build and maintain strong working relationships with business stakeholders, IS service owners, enterprise partners, and external vendors.Communicate effectively across all organisational levels, proactively highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.Lead vendor engagement activities including technical oversight, delivery performance, and commercial alignment.Business Engagement & RequirementsElicit, analyse, and document business requirements from key stakeholders.Convert operational needs into functional and technical design specifications aligned with manufacturing objectives.Required QualificationsDoctorate in Engineering with 2+ years of combined experience in Information Systems and Manufacturing Process AutomationORMaster’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of combined experience in Information Systems and Manufacturing Process AutomationORBachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of combined experience in Information Systems and Manufacturing Process AutomationPreferred ExperienceEngineering, Information Systems, Computer, or Software background within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.Proven experience leading complex projects and cross-functional resources.8+ years of overall manufacturing experience, including 5+ years within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.Profile SummaryThis role suits a technically strong, delivery-focused leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments, enjoys building high-performing teams, and is motivated by driving digital innovation and operational excellence in regulated industries.
