THE ROLE
Tesco Ireland is seeking a Line Manager who will support and lead a department and team to deliver the best shopping experience for our customers. Reporting to the Deputy Manager, this role will ensure we serve Ireland's shoppers a little better every day.
* Create an inspiring and welcoming environment for colleagues and customers
* Be responsible for the store in the absence of the Store Manager/Deputy Manager
* Ensure team members are fully trained and validated in their roles
* Foster two-way communication and a culture of trust
* Coach and manage colleagues to meet daily priorities and deliver excellent customer service
* Review reports and systems to implement improvements for customers and colleagues
* Promote a culture of zero food waste by managing date codes and food safety
* Recruit passionate colleagues dedicated to customer service
* Understand and deliver store cleaning specifications by leading by example
* Manage stock control, warehouse layout, and processes for efficiency
* Address pricing errors, overcharges, refunds, and labeling routines to ensure accuracy
* Oversee front-end operations to prevent queues
* Recognize and provide feedback on colleagues' service performance
For the Line Manager role, candidates should demonstrate:
• Passion for delivering the right experience for customers and colleagues
• Adaptability and agility in thinking
• Ability to deliver key objectives in a fast-paced environment
• Being the go-to person for departmental queries
• Ability to influence at senior levels
• Previous retail experience in a similar role is preferred
