Our Client is a leading company in the aviation industry. They are seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer to join their well established team. The Mechanical Product Engineer is responsible for providing support to the production team. it is a mix of desk based and production based role. Working with the Operations Team to ensure Product Compliance, Product Quality, Process Improvements and Turn- Around - Time reduction. Projects focused role.Responsibilities:Process ImprovementsIdentify and investigate opportunities for product repair cost improvements to achieve agreed targets.Obtain internal & external approvals for process improvement changes.Measure and monitor Rework costs and reasons, working with the Team to achieve target reductions.Measure and monitor Scrap quantities and reasons, working with the team to minimise the scrap rates.Define specifications for new equipment purchase / modifications and sign off on qualification / acceptance.Implement Process Improvements and monitor successful achievement of proposed savings.Product ComplianceProvide adequate work instructions by way of Routers & Operations sheets to ensure requirements are specified.Review of documents to identify and implement the changes that affect the company product in accordance with the company Documentation Review procedures.Audit the repair process for compliance with the specified procedures.Product QualityPromote application of best practices to deliver robust processes in repair of products.Establish and Implement the CTQ metrics to determine / control process stability.Define the daily, weekly, monthly TPM checks with Maintenance.Lead investigation of process problems, taking corrective action where deviation occurs.Investigate and issue written reports on non-conformances relating to the product quality.Provide Technical Support to Production, i.e. procurement of equipment, support to Maintenance.Education and requirements:Degree level preferably in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.5 years plus experience in an Engineering role.Ability to understand complex processes involving multiple disciplines.Strong analytical / problem solving skills.Confident and effective decision maker.Methodical and structured approach to establishing hand assessing process stability i.e. Lean / 6 Sigma.Excellent presentation skills and written/verbal communication skills.Demonstrated success in solving problems within intricate environments.Coordinating and overseeing project activities experience is essential.Meticulous attention to detail and expertise in documenting processes.If you are living in Ireland and hold a VALID WORK PERMIT, we would love to hear from you, if however, you do not hold a valid work permit unfortunately we will not be in a position to assist you with your job search.
