Our client is an export-focused Irish company specialising in the processing, sales, and distribution of marine algae products into the global animal nutrition sector. With exports to over 40 countries, the business has a well-established and growing footprint across ruminant and monogastric markets.
This is a newly focused commercial role created to accelerate sales growth of an emerging portfolio of fermentation postbiotic products. Based in Cork, the successful candidate will work closely with the wider commercial and technical teams and report directly to the Managing Director of the agri division. The business is commercialising new fermentation derived product platforms developed internally for animal feed and future food market applications. Initial focus will be animal nutrition, with longer term potential into adjacent food ingredient markets.
The priority is to identify, develop and convert new commercial opportunities across Ireland, the UK and selected European markets. The role is strongly sales led, with a clear mandate to build revenue streams, establish routes to market and grow customer adoption of new products.
The position also sits close to the business’s technical and innovation centre, giving direct access to internal expertise in fermentation, product development and technical support. This structure is intended to ensure faster commercial execution, stronger customer support and closer alignment with the wider sales team.
Responsibilities
Commercial Development

Lead sales growth for a new portfolio of fermentation derived products within the animal nutrition sector.
Identify and convert new business opportunities across animal feed, nutrition and related sectors.
Build and manage commercial pipelines across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Develop strategic account plans and distributor relationships where appropriate.
Deliver sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market intelligence to senior management.
Lead and coordinate the wider commercial effort for the product range to deliver sales targets and market growth.
Work with internal sales, technical and marketing colleagues to strengthen customer relationships and execute commercial plans.
Develop and implement the sales strategy for the portfolio, identifying new markets, customers and distribution partners.

Market Expansion

Launch new products into target markets and priority customer segments.
Develop relationships with feed manufacturers, premix companies, nutrition businesses and channel partners.
Drive customer acquisition through direct commercial activity and regular market travel.
Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings and technical presentations.

Technical & Product Support

Translate technical product benefits into clear commercial value propositions.
Coordinate external research partners and scientific validation projects.
Work with internal technical teams to support customer trials, approvals and product onboarding.
Ensure all market activity aligns with regulatory and industry requirements.
Work closely with the Cork based commercial team on sales execution and market priorities.
Collaborate with technical, fermentation and product development teams.
Support pricing, positioning and go to market planning for new product launches.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum 5 years commercial experience within animal nutrition, feed additives, premixes, feed compounds, agriculture inputs or related technical B2B markets.
Proven track record of developing new business and delivering revenue growth.
Degree qualified preferred in Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Food Science or similar discipline.
Self-motivated business developer with the drive to open new markets and create opportunities.
Strong technical sales capability with the ability to sell science-based products.
Previous experience selling fermentation-based products, postbiotics, probiotics, yeast, bacterial cultures or related specialist ingredients is highly beneficial.
Knowledge of silage inoculants is strongly preferred, with direct exposure highly beneficial.
Experience selling into ruminant and monogastric sectors would be beneficial.
Able to manage commercial priorities across multiple markets with regular international travel.
Based in Cork or within practical commuting distance.
Willingness to travel regularly across Ireland, the UK and Europe to develop customers, manage opportunities and support commercial growth.

Remuneration
Base salary expected in the region of €80,000 to €90,000, plus a 15–20% performance‑related bonus, car allowance, and matched pension contributions from employer and employee, with flexibility for an outstanding candidate who closely matches the required profile.
