We're Hiring: Executive Parks and Landscape Officers
Join our Parks Team and help shape, protect and enhance the green spaces, public realm and natural environments across Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Our work supports the wellbeing of 233,000 residents, and as an Executive Parks & Landscape Officer you will play a key strategic role in planning, designing and managing the county's parks, open spaces, urban forests and biodiversity-rich landscapes.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable place-making, lead multi-disciplinary projects and support the delivery of high-quality public amenities for current and future generations.
What is an Executive Parks & Landscape Officer?
An Executive Parks & Landscape Officer is a senior technical and managerial role responsible for the planning, design, development and ongoing management of the county's parks, green infrastructure and public open spaces.
The role involves project and contract management, strategic planning, arboricultural oversight, environmental protection, and collaboration with a wide range of internal teams, external stakeholders and community groups.
Officers also manage staff and resources to ensure high-quality, safe and sustainable public spaces.
We are looking for someone with:
A Level 8 qualification in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Arboriculture, Natural or Environmental Science.
Five years post graduate experience of planning, design, development or management of parks or similar spaces
Strong professional competence, with experience in procurement, project management, contracts and working with professional contractors.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The ability to manage and motivate staff
The ability to develop policies, guidance and the preparation of technical reports.
