W2025_TBCOpen to Internal and External CandidatesPosition Title : MHPSS Senior Community Engagement AssociateDuty Station : Citywest, Dublin, Ireland Classification : General Service Staff, G6Type of Appointment : One Year Fixed Term Graded Contract, with possibility of extension Estimated Start Date : December/January 2025Closing Date : 5 December 2025Context:IOM Ireland has been operating in Ireland since 2001, currently in following areas of migration management: Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration, Resettlement, Family Reunification, Counter-Trafficking, Protection, Integration Support to Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection, Integrated Immigration Governance and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).IOM provides mental health and psychosocial support to international protection seekers residing in the Citywest accommodation facility with the aim to improve their psychosocial well-being and to strengthen their overall resilience.Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Ireland, the Head of MHPSS Unit and in direct supervision of the Senior Cultural Mediation and Community Engagement Associate, the incumbent will support the implementation of project activities carried out by the Community Mobilisers for the IPAs residing in Citywest Accommodation centres.Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Support the coordination of daily operations and socio-relational activities provided to the beneficiaries by the Community mobilisers team, helping them follow the MPHSS framework as defined by the ISAC.Supervise the MHPSS Assistants (Community Mobilisers) in the implementation of their activities, supporting equitable allocation of tasks within the team, and providing guidance to community focal points and volunteers, as well as helping with the use of allocated resources.Support with the MHPSS needs assessments, surveys and research, with the social information assistants team providing assistance, to help promote access to community-based psychosocial and protection services.Support the coordination of basic vulnerability screening activities carried out by the social information assistants' team and assist in aligning these with both IOM and IPAS standards.Support the identification of training needs and resources of the team and volunteers and report them to the Senior Cultural Mediation and Community Engagement Associate.Prepare weekly updates on trends and challenges and highlight practical solutions implemented during the reporting period.Escalate any sensitive issues following the appropriate referral pathways and provide weekly analysis of complaints and feedback received from residents.Assist in providing the social information team with the tools and updated information materials needed to carry out their work.Maintain contact with agencies to support the coordination of information sessions and outreach activities for the residents.Support directing residents to available services in line with established guidance.Maintain established coordination and partnerships with civil society organizations, including local NGOs, faith-based organizations, as they relate to the work of the team.Apply established referral pathways when incidents affecting residents are reported.Assist with data collection, monitoring, evaluation and reporting tasks of the MHPSS Unit.Perform such other duties, as may be assigned.Required Qualifications and Experience:Education:High school diploma with at least six years of relevant experience; orBachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Education from an accredited academic institution with at least four years of professional experience.Experience:Experience supporting of programmes for migrants.Experience providing direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees preferred.Knowledge and experience working with State agencies and non-governmental organisations in Ireland preferred.Understanding of international standards, best practices, issues related to displacement and integration.Previous work experience or training on mental health and psychosocial support to migrants is an asset.Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment is an advantage.Previous experience with international organizations, NGOs, EU Agencies and/or Irish law enforcements or Government's Departments would be an asset.Skills:Strong interpersonal skills, including. empathy and emotional resilience.Intercultural competence and effective communication skills.Familiarity with the procedures related to the asylum application in Ireland.Strong organizational, facilitation, writing and presentations skills.Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc).Languages:IOM's official languages are English, French, and SpanishFor this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).Working knowledge of any UN languages an advantageRequired Competencies:ValuesInclusion and respect for diversity: Respects and promotes individual and cultural differences;
