IT Support Engineer (12‑Month Contract)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a dynamic team on a 12‑month contract.
Location: Fully onsite in the Kilkenny – Carlow region.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a technical lead for IT service delivery and support.
Build and configure servers, desktops, and laptops to company standard builds.
Deploy software and standard builds to client devices.
Implement disaster recovery solutions and conduct regular DR testing.
Apply security patching across the IT estate and produce compliance reports.
Manage physical infrastructure to ensure secure and compliant services.
Monitor backups for critical systems and data.
Produce reports on support performance in line with SLAs.
Perform and document system health checks.
Maintain system architecture documentation and asset inventories.
Assist with Active Directory administration and group policy management.
Troubleshoot technical issues, conduct diagnostics, and provide technical assistance.
Incident, Change & Release Management
Register and manage all user support calls in the call management system.
Provide 1st and 2nd line support for infrastructure services.
Process incidents, service requests, and change requests in line with ITIL processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders and participate in major incident resolution.
Execute release requests and support go‑live activities.
Liaise with external service providers for incident, change, and release management.
Ensure accurate and timely updates to service desk tickets.
Project Support
Participate in IT infrastructure support for business projects.
Understand business requirements and ensure solutions align with objectives.
Scope project timelines and deliverables.
Coordinate vendors and internal teams to deliver successful implementations.
Ensure documentation is updated and stored centrally.
Knowledge, Problem, Capacity & Availability Management
Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Support handover of new services to the infrastructure team.
Identify and resolve recurring incidents.
Contribute to capacity and availability planning.
Vendor & Purchasing Management
Manage requisitions and invoices for IT infrastructure spend.
Maintain supplier contract database and vendor management records.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure high service levels.
Support annual negotiations for IT service contracts.
Additional Information
Working hours may flex to meet business requirements.
Participation in out‑of‑hours support roster is required.
Deliver all work in compliance with corporate standards, including project management, quality assurance, health and safety, and IT service delivery methodologies.
Provide high‑quality support to the user community and collaborate with other departments.
Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer
As a Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will apply highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in reliability engineering, production support, identification and elimination of equipment risk. In addition, you will take ownership of the successful implementation of reliability projects and initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Provide global reliability technical leadership.
Apply technical knowledge to proactively eliminate risks and drive improved consistency of performance within production equipment and processes.
Utilize TPM technical SME’s to develop effective reliability initiatives.
Lead the implementation of Reliability Initiatives at a site level to drive standardization across the process footprint.
Coach more junior Engineers through technical and process challenges.
Communicate technical updates effectively to all levels of the business.
Define, develop, and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:
Value‑added, defined, and standardised preventive maintenance tasks
Effective utilisation of predictive and other non‑destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
Provide input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability‑related and non‑reliability‑related risks that could adversely impact operations
Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.
Experience You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in engineering or a related scientific field.
Minimum 5 years in electronic and/or medical/biotech industries.
5–10 plus years of manufacturing experience with companies engaged in the manufacture of high quality, FDA regulated products.
Knowledge of regulations and standards of medical devices.
Proven leadership skills, results‑oriented, highly collaborative, team player, and self‑starter who can operate in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience in state‑of‑the‑art, multi‑step, high‑volume, process control manufacturing and process development.
Experience with ISO 9001/CE Mark requirements.
Manufacturing management experience in manufacturing planning, documented systems, GMP, and QA.
