We are seeking a highly skilled Project Estimator to join our team. As an integral part of our Kerry-based manufacturing operation, you will play a key role in project cost control from the offer stage through to handover and delivery of manufactured products.
The responsibilities of this role include:
* Producing cost estimates for the sales department in their tenders to customers;
* Assisting the sales department with any general costing queries, such as optional technical features offered as options in tenders;
* Establishing budgets for new contracts;
* Monitoring ongoing costs of new contracts and identifying root causes of cost overruns;
* Producing financial reports as required on contracts;
* Contributing to the continuous development of the department and all costing processes.
To succeed in this position, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
* Diploma/degree level in an engineering discipline, with experience in costing processes related to the supply of engineering projects (preferred but not essential);
* Ability to read technical specifications (structural/electromechanical/automation) and interpret costing requirements;
* Strong aptitude, ability, and willingness to learn is essential, particularly in using IT tools such as ERP systems and databases to assist with the generation of cost calculations;
* PC literate and competent with MS Office products; and
* Ability to work under pressure and towards deadlines.
