The Asset Operations function is responsible for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.The Operational Leakage function monitors the performance of the network in relation to water conservation and leakage, ensuring risks to service continuity are identified and managed and that the Customer first approach is at the forefront of Asset Operations activities. This will include performance of the asset base, optimising production and managing network integrity during interventions.The Operational Leakage team plays a key part in ensuring the operation of UÉ’s asset base and the quality of the data that is utilised by the Asset Operations, Asset Planning, IDD, telemetry and NOMC teams.Reporting to the Water Conservation Lead, the Leakage Maintenance and Repair Team Lead has a remit over a geographical area and is responsible for overseeing planned leak repair activities across the network infrastructure in a safe manner. The Leakage M&R Team Lead will be responsible for leading, supporting and developing a team of Leakage M&R Operatives and provide them with the necessary direction and skills to ensure the provision of maintenance and repair services across the water network. They will also have responsibility for liaising and co‑ordinating with third‑party contractors where they are undertaking the leak repairs on UÉ’s behalf.Out of hours working will be required and appropriate overtime rates will apply.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the performance of a team of network operatives across the water infrastructure to provide necessary direction and skills for service provision.Ensure data capture on issues that are relevant to contribute to the development of operational, maintenance and repair plans.Manage and replace failed or failed assets such as bursts and leaks, water mains replacements, customer boundary boxes, valves, hydrants, meters, short pipe lengths, booster pumps and all ancillary equipment.Organise maintenance and repair of newly commissioned or upgraded assets, including site training and adequate resourcing.Develop team members through coaching and training in all aspects of relevant works.Liaise, co‑ordinate and sign off on leak repair works undertaken by third‑party contractors.Safeguard team works in accordance with defined levels of operational competence, hygiene code of practice, health and safety requirements, QA systems and standard operating procedures using the technology systems provided.Maintain administrative tasks including review of timesheets, work orders, H&S records and inventory management.Participate in application of Road Opening Licences and liaison with Operation Support Team for necessary information.Contribute to development of task schedules and standard operating procedures to maximise quality of output and efficiency.Ensure all key information on leak repairs is recorded via Crew Works on Hand Held Units.Monitor and report KPIs for processes over which the role has ownership.Manage the team’s cost, including inventory management, vehicle and equipment utilisation, and monitoring water network operations.Investigation of complaints regarding water services with internal and external stakeholder engagement.Input updates into the Uisce Éireann outage management system.Support coordination of incident and emergency response, ensuring health and safety standards and pollution classifications are met.Ensure all health and safety inductions are completed and equipment is provided and calibrated.Budget ManagementManage costs associated with the Leakage Maintenance & Repair team.Coordinate efficient use of budgetary resources, inventory, productivity, vehicle and equipment usage, and implementation of work tasks.Customer and Incident ManagementManage proactive and reactive activities to deliver consistent customer service.Investigate complaints regarding water services with stakeholder engagement.Update the Uisce Éireann outage management system as required.Coordinate incident and emergency response, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.Health and SafetyImplement Construction Regulations and assigned duties as per Uisce Éireann policies and safety plans.Adhere to health and safety procedures including traffic management plans and risk assessments.Ensure personnel have relevant safety training and documentation.Identify hazards and assess risks for operational areas of responsibility.Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.Promote health and safety commitments across UÉ and supply chain.Support delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme.Provide visible leadership, coaching and development of team members.Conduct duties in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies and NIS Directive.Complete other duties as required.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceSecondary education or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 3 years direct relevant experience in a similar role within water network & maintenance repair service.FETAC level 5 / QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate or equivalent – Craft in apprenticeship such as Craft of Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting is desirable.Team leader skills including building a high‑performing team and developing people.Effective communication skills for engaging internal stakeholders and front‑line employees.Computing skills: ability to create and interpret spreadsheets and databases.Understanding of key network infrastructure (e.g., control valves, pumps).Understanding of Trunk Main operations, Network Management, DMA operability.Experience and understanding of working within a strong health & safety culture.Valid Irish category B driving licence.Specialist skills in water treatment or maintenance and repair of water abstraction and treatment assets.Experience managing and controlling costs.Knowledge of managing process compliance.Closing dateThe closing date for receipt of applications for this vacancy is 22nd June 2026.
