A well-established and growing chartered accountancy practice in the West Dublin / Meath area is seeking a talented Accounts Technician to join their busy Accounts team. This is a permanent, full-time position, ideal for a candidate with a solid practice accounting background who is looking for a long-term role with flexibility and strong client exposure.
The Role
Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you'll work with a wide variety of clients, including audit, non-audit, and sole traders across multiple sectors. The role offers a balance of autonomy and team collaboration in a professional yet supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of working papers and financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and firm procedures
* Preparation of management accounts (quarterly or biannually) for selected clients
* Completion and filing of VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns
* Preparing draft year-end files and performing bank reconciliations
* Managing and responding to client queries in a professional manner
* Taking initiative and ownership of workload with minimal supervision
* Supporting the wider team with ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum of 3 years' practice experience in a similar role
* Accounting Technician (ATI) or IPASS qualification essential
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail with the ability to work on own initiative
* Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Technical Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate level or above)
* Experience with Sage Accounts
* Familiarity with accounts production software such as CCH or equivalent
Working Hours & Flexibility
* Standard hours: 8:30am–5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–2:30pm Friday
* Flexible start and finish times
* Hybrid working: Option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays
