Job Summary
The Building/Facilities Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within residential, commercial, or industrial properties. The role ensures that all electrical installations and repairs meet safety standards and comply with local codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, circuit breakers, and wiring
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions and implement effective solutions
Install and upgrade electrical components and fixtures in accordance with building codes
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency electrical issues
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and other relevant safety and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation for all electrical work performed
Assist with preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors on electrical projects
Ensure a clean and safe work environment at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical work preferred
Valid electrician license or journeyman status preferred (depending on state/local requirements)
Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a property or facilities environment
Knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and safety protocols
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks
