Maintenance Engineer - County Louth

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team within a world-renowned engineering company.
Overall Objective: Performs routine maintenance, troubleshoots, and quickly repairs mechanical or electrical problems with manufacturing equipment and systems within the facility.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Plan and schedule repairs, ensure periodic and preventive maintenance are undertaken, and emergency troubleshooting support is available as needed.
* Service and maintain equipment including motors, conveyors, and production-related equipment.
* Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines, monitor and improve maintenance processes for efficiency.
* Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
* Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
* Source parts for repair and upgrades, negotiate with suppliers, liaise with vendors.
* Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient operations.
* Drive improvements in equipment efficiencies and operational performance; participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects.
* Communicate with the production team and mentor apprentices.
* Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
* Prepare and submit maintenance reports.
* Develop and manage a Maintenance Management System.
* Share knowledge and provide training to colleagues as needed.
* Ensure safety during maintenance activities, following health and safety policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Engineering / Electrical / Mechanical qualification or equivalent.
* At least 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Exposure to CNC machines and robotics is advantageous.
* Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and/or OEE desirable (not essential).
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
