Your impact: As part of a UK function of approximately 400 geotechnical and tunnelling engineers delivering practical and innovative solutions to ground-related projects, you will join one of the industries leading and longest-standing geotechnical and tunnelling teams in the country.
From small to large scale turnkey projects through to packages of work - pipe jacking through to complex underground caverns, utilising techniques from empirical methods to 3D FE analysis (both structural and geotechnical). As an integral part of the team you will work with both internal and external clients delivering subject matter expert solutions.
Remit of the role will include:
* Provide tunnelling leadership and direction in multi-disciplinary project teams
* Ensure the completion of projects and packages of work to agreed budgets and programmes
* Manage task budgets.
* Foster and build a collaborative culture with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships with colleagues, customer stakeholders and outside agencies
* Identify and utilise technological advances to improve quality, results and efficiency.
* Expedite schemes from inception to design completion.
* Quality control and checking deliverables.
* Write and produce technical reports.
* Mentor colleagues, aiding both personal and career development.
Here's what you'll need: We would be delighted to hear from candidates who have a good blend of the following skills and experience;
* Demonstrable expertise in Tunnel design.
* MICE Chartered Engineer status.
* Track record in the design for the design and build market.
* Experience interfacing directly with clients and building lasting relationships with them.
* A sound academic and technical knowledge of civil/tunnel engineering
* Knowledge of relevant European codes and standards
* Proficient in software such as; Plaxis, FLAC, MIDAS and or SAP.
* Team player but with an ability to work independently and manage small teams as required.
* Planning & organisational skills.
* Motivated to deliver high quality
