# Senior System Administrator – PermSenior System Administrator – PermSalary€NegotiableLocationDublin, IrelandContractPermanentIndustryTechnology---ContactVy DoanVy.Doan@oliverjames.com**Key Responsibilities*** Provide advanced support for IT infrastructure, addressing complex queries and ensuring systems run efficiently.* Ensure cost-effective, efficient use of IT infrastructure and recommend improvements.* Liaise with hardware/software vendors and manage server hardware, virtual environments (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).* Administer and secure Windows, Apple, VMware, and cloud platforms (Azure & AWS).* Configure and manage security tools such as IAM, firewalls, encryption* Deploy and maintain security systems such as intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), encryption, and authentication systems,* Work with network engineers, software developers, security engineers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems* Perform routine security checks, respond to incidents, and take proactive measures to maintain operational security.* Manage user accounts, devices, email, and collaboration tools using cloud-based solutions.* Oversee the deployment and management of endpoint protection software (antivirus, anti-malware, device encryption) on all user devices (workstations, laptops, mobile devices)* Install, support and maintain new server hardware and server infrastructure (Azure)* Liaise with hardware/software vendors and recommend improvements for infrastructure.* Deploy and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to safeguard against unauthorised access, leaks, or data loss.* Implement and manage perimeter security, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control systems, to protect the network from unauthorised access.* Assess, select, and deploy additional security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection) to enhance overall organisational security.**Skills & Experience*** 6+ years’ experience in IT systems engineering* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Intune, O365, Defender, Teams, SharePoint).* Strong expertise in cloud technologies (Azure, Azure Arc, Entra ID) and security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM).* Experience with managing Mac devices using MDM is desirable.* Experience with firewalls (on-prem and cloud) such as Palo Also/ Prisma.* Strong problem-solving, communication, and independent working skills.* Familiarity with Linux, Azure DevOps, and SaaS environments is an advantage.* Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure/Office 365 and Palo Alto firewalls strongly preferred.
