Responsibilities
* Promote safety first, exhibiting visible safety behaviours, sharing lessons learned and using safety moments and Mace\'s HSW framework to support the safety and wellbeing of all Mace staff.
* Ensure robust quality systems are in place and managed in line with service excellence.
* Manage delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery programme and agreed project milestones.
* Coordinate tasks and associated deliverables in support of the associate director and other senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of the project.
* Address technical queries raised during the project in accordance with TSO standards and policies and close them out efficiently.
* Ensure projects are carried out to meet requirements; review and compare submitted detailed designs against functional requirements and outline designs.
* Monitor construction progress and perform onsite inspections to ensure compliance with standards, functional requirements, and outline designs.
* Ensure developments are commissioned to comply with the requirements, producing and issuing commissioning instructions.
* Verify transmission system requirements are met to allow commissioning tests to proceed.
* Engage with customers and stakeholder technical consultants to resolve issues as required.
* Coordinate with peers to meet business priorities, manage issues, provide technical guidance, and act as an escalation point to the EAM manager.
* Manage interactions on own projects with client engineering vendors, customers and internal stakeholders.
* Provide technical direction and assistance across the organisation on own projects and to team members, acting as a team representative when required.
* Ensure completion of Stage Gate Reviews on all customer projects to meet functional specification requirements.
* Provide completion and dissemination of lessons learned on each project post energisation.
* Engage with ESB Networks partners including meetings, reporting, relationship management, and general communication as applicable to the client engineering role.
* Facilitate and input project reviews, assessments and audits by internal and external parties as required.
Qualifications
* An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4-5 years experience post-graduate.
* Transmission substation design expertise with experience assessing substation designs for conformity to standards at 110/220/400 kV.
* Digitally savvy, able to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
* A construction or project management background with a drive to grow your career and benefit from opportunities at Mace.
* Experience completing onsite inspection and monitoring of construction progress for compliance to ensure transmission assets can be commissioned in accordance with standards.
* Experience preparing and issuing transmission design drawings, such as single line diagrams, substation layout drawings, protection schematics and interlocking drawings.
You’ll Also Have
* Membership or progression toward chartership of IEI, ICE or equivalent professional development.
* Experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the Energy sector.
* Infrastructure project management expertise and commercial/financial acumen.
* Experience working on projects within large, diverse teams and developing relationships with stakeholders.
* Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape project outlooks.
