We are seeking an
experienced Staff Grade Occupational Therapist
to join the
Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT)
based in
Trim
. This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who has developed solid clinical experience in paediatrics or disability services and is looking to further their skills within a supportive, interdisciplinary CDNT environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
* Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with disabilities and developmental needs in line with CDNT pathways.
* Manage an independent paediatric caseload with support and supervision from senior occupational therapy staff.
* Support children's participation in daily activities including self-care, play, school participation, and sensory regulation.
* Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, and Social Work.
* Engage effectively with families, carers, schools, and relevant agencies to support child- and family-centred care.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
* Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives, and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
* Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
* CORU registration (mandatory).
* Post-qualification experience working with children
, ideally within disability services, CDNT, or paediatric settings.
* Strong clinical reasoning and caseload management skills.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience within a CDNT or similar disability service.
* Experience delivering group programmes or parent education sessions.
* Knowledge of family-centred and interdisciplinary models of care.
