Windmill Healthcare are currently recruiting for the position of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our Management Team at Padre Pio Care Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of Clinical Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants - and to play an integral role in a committed multidisciplinary team, making a meaningful contribution to the lives of our residents.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and deputise in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON) / Person in Charge, undertaking the full role and responsibilities in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations, and HIQA standards.Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, infection control, and food safety are maintained.Participate in clinical management, including:Providing and overseeing resident careCommunicating effectively with residents, families, and representativesManaging and supporting staff performance and professional developmentDeveloping and reviewing policies and proceduresDelivering in-service training and educationCoordinate the quality and safety management system, including clinical risk management and resident involvement.Lead, motivate, and mentor staff, promoting a culture of professional excellence and accountability.Participate in staff appraisals, coaching, and performance management.Work collaboratively with HR on disciplinary and grievance processes when required.Coordinate and manage staff rosters with the senior management team.Contribute to the development of organisational policies and best practice standards for the Care Centre.RequirementsActive NMBI Registration.Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) or Assistant Director of Nursing in a nursing home environment.Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in a nursing home within the last 6 years.Post-registration management qualification (essential).A qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia Care (desirable).Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations, and governance requirements.Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.Demonstrated ability to lead change and promote continuous improvement and learning.Strong capacity to manage workload effectively and respond flexibly to new demands.What We OfferComprehensive induction training and continued in-house paid training.Ongoing opportunities for professional development.Free on-site parking.Subsidised meals.Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).Cycle-to-work initiative.Be Part of Our Story - Apply TodayWindmill Healthcare is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer.
