Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – Heavy Manufacturing

Salary approx €70,000 (DOE)
An excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business. Based just 45 minutes from Dublin without the traffic. Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and industrialising world-class engineering solutions within a hands-on manufacturing environment.

The Role:
1. Collaborate with the management team to design and develop new products
2. Reverse engineer projects to ensure BOMs are set up accurately in the ERP system
3. Ensure drawings, parts books, and documentation are ready prior to production launch
4. Ensure compliance with relevant EU and UK regulations and legislation
5. Create and interpret production drawings, including electrical and hydraulic schematics
6. Develop 3D models and designs using SolidWorks
7. Perform FEA analysis and prepare detailed technical reports
8. Generate Bills of Materials for production
9. Optimise nesting and machine programming to improve manufacturing efficiency
10. Source components and set up part numbers for the purchasing department
The Person:
11. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
12. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks with extensive hands-on experience
13. Experience performing FEA analysis and producing detailed reports
14. Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems in machinery design
15. Strong understanding of production drawings and manufacturing processes
16. Experience managing projects from concept through to production
17. Hands-on mechanical aptitude with experience in heavy machinery, plant, HGV, or agricultural equipment
