From our sites in London, Dublin and Cardiff, we work across features, television and broadcast.
Our Dublin office was established in **** and supports a wide range of productions shooting in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
This role will be based at our Kinsealy Park address.
Brief Role Description
We are seeking a Regional Kit Room Technician to support the day-to-day duties of our Dublin facility.
The Kit Room Technician will work closely with the Regional Account Manager to ensure the day-to-day business runs smoothly and our customers are satisfied.
The right candidate will be process-driven with a good degree of flexibility, initiative and common sense.
You will be someone who enjoys problem solving and learning how to use technical equipment.
This role will require an amount of lone working, so you will need to be motivated, with a positive outlook and a can-do attitude.
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage workload and work to strict deadlines with attention to detail is required.
The successful candidate will be provided with extensive training to learn all Kit Room processes, including logistics, administration, driving, check-in, check-out and support, learning various skills and developing a detailed understanding of industry equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
Liaising with Regional Account Manager to fulfil the day-to-day requirements of the facility, e.g. what equipment needs to be prepared, when does it need to be delivered etc.
Managing your time to ensure all tasks are completed by deadline and raising capacity issues when they arise
Building and testing technical equipment for hire
Handling Goods In – receiving deliveries/post and processing related paperwork, checking technical equipment is in good working order and there are no outstanding items
Handling Goods Out – looking after all outbound collections, ensuring goods are picked, prepped, packed and loaded
Managing the paperwork for goods in/out, inventory control, regular stock counts, general administration duties
Driving vans for delivery and collection of equipment to and from the film studios, which could occasionally involve early starts/late finishes
Maintaining the inventory/stock control systems to ensure equipment is located, stored, and transferred correctly; ensuring the stock inventory is accurate
Cleaning equipment – care needed with expensive technical equipment
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Ensuring good housekeeping within the facility
Shipping goods – preparing goods / liaising with Shipping Coordinator to fulfil requirements
Receiving and processing new products – asset listing and uploading information onto our dedicated asset management system
Adhering to all legislation requirements for warehousing and handling
Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment
Other Duties:
Electric stacker duties – training provided
Cable making – training provided
PAT testing – training provided
Mechanical cart maintenance – training provided
Monitor Calibration – training provided
Candidate Requirements:
Manual driving licence
An ability to juggle tasks – the company priorities change unexpectedly, candidates need to be able to change duties at short notice, in line with the business needs
Flexible attitude to work arrangements including daily tasks and working hours
Ability to meet deadlines, delivering consistency in results
Conscientious and positive attitude with the ability to work under pressure
Common sense – ability to work unsupervised
Physically active – moving and handling of heavy equipment
Practical, basic DIY skills
Discretion – working in sensitive areas of film production
Computer literate – competent with MS Office – Excel, Word and Apple with ability to learn new programs and applications quickly
Desirable but not essential:
Interest in electronics, computers or AV, film equipment
Relevant experience with technology and DIY
Understanding of Carnet or ATA Carnet
Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, AVID Media Composter and Pomfort Silverstack
Working Conditions
Monday to Friday 42.5 hours average per week(some weekend hours may be requiredon occasion)
Hours of Business – 8 am to 6 pm covered in shift patterns, with the flexibility to work outside of these hours if required
Holiday 30 days per year including bank holidays
Additional holiday day after 2 years' service
