Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover) – Potential to be Extended
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover) Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our Finance and Purchasing Department at our Head Office in Sligo. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, with the potential to be extended. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial and purchasing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.
Role Responsibilities:
* Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
* Process and reconcile supplier invoices
* Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
* Processing of sub-contractor payment certificates and RCT contracts
* Support month-end and year-end close processes.
* General administrative tasks related to the finance and purchasing department
* Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems
* Respond to purchasing related queries from internal teams and external parties
* Provide general administrative support to the Finance & Purchasing Department.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administration role preferably within the construction or building industries.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is an advantage
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently
