Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Galway. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work on a range of mechanical services, including heating, water services, gas, ventilation and waste service installations and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying or mechanical engineering, with experience in preparing cost estimates, tender documents, contracts, drawings, BoQs, specifications, budgets, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities will include performing material take-offs prior to purchase requisitions, reporting irregularities or discrepancies to project management, and implementing post-contract duties such as measurements, final accounts, and evaluation reports.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractor works, evaluating claims, variations, invoices, and ensuring contractual obligations are satisfied.
A key requirement is the ability to work closely with the project team to ensure that measurements, variations, and contractual matters are properly recorded and notified.
We are looking for someone with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and strong English capability.
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering is required, along with 5+ years of relevant experience.
This is a permanent staff role with a salary of €65K-80K dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.

* Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to a multi-discipline civil/construction project

* Good communication skills and strong English capability
