About the Role - As an Accounts Executive, you will be responsible for the management of receivables and providing general financial support across two key companies within the Calibre Scientific group — Reagecon and Carl Stuart. This role will require flexibility in balancing workload depending on business priorities and will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of finance functions across both entities. Working closely with the Finance team, the successful candidate will support accurate invoicing, payment allocation, and proactive debtor management, while also contributing to ongoing process improvements.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the Finance team to actively pursue outstanding debtor balances and reduce overdue accounts.
* Bank and allocate cash receipts accurately, recording all forms of customer payments including cheques, cash, and credit cards.
* Identify and resolve any payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Monitor customer accounts regularly to track non-payments or delays and ensure appropriate follow-up.
* Prepare and submit sales invoices in accordance with customer-specific requirements, including portal uploads, VMI processes, and maintaining proper documentation.
* Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly to support smooth procurement and supply chain operations.
* Balance workload across both Reagecon and Carl Stuart, prioritizing tasks based on current business needs.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance department by working closely with the wider finance team.
* Undertake any additional finance-related tasks as required by team leadership.
Experience & Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
* Strong knowledge of integrated financial systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
* Experience working in an SME environment and understanding its operational demands.
* Familiarity with the customer base is advantageous.
* Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working to deadlines.
Qualifications:
* An Accounting Technician qualification, or current progress towards completion, is considered advantageous
