All care is person centered and provides a holistic service in partnership with the person’s circle of support.Barróg Healthcare’s Residential Service aims to provide high quality care for people living with a disability, in a safe, comfortable environment. At minimum a B.A. in Social Care, Fetac Level 7, or other CORU accepted qualifications in Social Care AND must be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU or commit to completing registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker by end of November 2025 OR have 2 years’ experience working as a Social Care Worker in the last 5 years AND have commenced their application to register as a Social Care Worker with CORU.For Support Worker roles: a minimum of a QQI Level 5 major award (8 components / modules) in Health or Social Care or equivalent is required OR a commitment to complete the major award if some components / modules are already completed.Advantageous experience:One year of experience in a Healthcare or Social Care settingExperience working in a Residential SettingWorking knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA standardsExperience/knowledge of report writing and client support plansCandidate Skills / ExperienceThe ability to support the client group in a respectful way, always with the client’s goals and needs at the centre of every taskAn understanding of how to prevent and manage challenging behaviourAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a teamComfortable working with essential information technology and providing reportsMain Duties / ResponsibilitiesSupport service users with an intellectual / physical disability, autismEnsure service users are supported to make sense of their environment, learn new skills and maximise their independenceAssist individuals with their daily living activitiesSupport service users with their health and well-being, personal care including continence requirements if requiredSupport individuals to live a meaningful life, with a priority focus on equal citizenshipFacilitate everyone supported by the services to actively participate and integrate into the communityAct as an advocate for clients / residentsActively promote the participation of clients / residents in the formulation and execution of their care/placement planAccompany service users to appointments and other events as requiredAssist service user’s that have reduced mobilityUndertake duties as may be assigned by your direct manager/team leader to support the care of service usersManage challenging behaviours, using a positive behaviour support planProvide reports on client activities to managementAttend staff meetings and contribute constructively to the ongoing progression/ implementation of the care planThe above Job Description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties involved and consequently, the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.Privacy & DataThe administrator of your data is Barróg Healthcare with its registered office in Dublin, Ireland, D22E205.
