OverviewThe Cost Engineer plays a key role in cost planning, monitoring and reporting, ensuring robust cost control throughput the project lifecycle. The role holder will take on responsibility in supporting the cost performance of our clients projects.Principal AccountabilitiesDevelop and maintain detailed cost reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned projects.Analyse cost performance and trends, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.Prepare and review cost estimates and support benchmarking activities.Lead the monthly cost reporting cycle, including accruals, commitments, and actuals.Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to ensure alignment between cost and time data.Support earned value management (EVM) processes and performance measurement.Maintain cost management systems and ensure data accuracy and consistency, including Ecosys.Contribute to risk and opportunity assessments from a cost perspective.Assist the change manager, support change control processes by evaluating the cost impact of project changes.Provide cost input to project reviews and governance forums.Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across the team.Perform additional tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the role.Experience5 years experience in a cost engineering or project control's role.Experience with cost management software (e.g., PRISM, EcoSys, SAP, or similar), is desirable.SkillsStrong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools.Ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Familiarity with project lifecycle stages and cost control principles.Knowledge of earned value management and performance metrics is desirable.Exposure to infrastructure, energy, defence, or construction projects is desirable.Working knowledge of risk management and change control processes is desirable.Formal Education QualificationsDegree or equivalent qualification in Project Controls, or a related discipline.Additional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
