Fire Safety Engineer
We are seeking a Fire Safety Engineer to join our specialist fire engineering consultancy firm in Dublin with offices across Ireland and UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex construction projects, providing expert fire safety engineering solutions.
About the Role
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our projects, from design through to completion. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop and implement fire safety strategies that meet both legal requirements and best practice standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and Implement Fire Safety Designs: Ensure compliance with Irish fire safety regulations and international standards for various construction projects.
* Conduct Fire Risk Assessments and Audits: Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate solutions through simulations and safety audits.
* Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Integrate fire safety measures into the overall design and construction process with architects, structural engineers, and contractors.
* Prepare Detailed Reports and Documentation: Support project approvals and compliance with detailed fire engineering reports, specifications, and documentation.
* Manage Client Processes: Assist clients in carrying out FSC/DAC/BCAR processes.
* Engage with Clients and Stakeholders: Provide expert advice and ensure successful project outcomes with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
* Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical leadership and support within the fire engineering team.
* Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Maintain knowledge of the latest developments in fire safety engineering, building codes, and industry standards.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree: In Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 2 Years of Experience: In fire engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
* Strong Knowledge of Regulations: Irish fire safety regulations, building codes, and relevant international standards.
* Experience in Fire Safety Design: For various building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial.
* Proficiency in Software Tools: Fire modelling software and tools.
* Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Develop innovative fire safety solutions.
* Strong Communication Skills: Collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
* Chartered Engineer Status: Advantageous, but not required.
