About the Opportunity
An exciting chance has arisen for a newly or part Qualified Financial Accountant to support the growth within our Finance team. The role involves preparing monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including monitoring key performance indicators to ensure efficient financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, statutory, statistical & tax reporting
* Support the year-end audit process by responding to auditor requests and providing documentation
* Participate in month-end and quarter-end ledger closing processes for local and Group reporting within agreed timeframes, including the reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts
* Ensure financial controls are operating efficiently with all reconciliations completed within agreed timeframes
* Coordinate with senior stakeholders on the settlement of large ad hoc payments for new business, reinsurance collateral settlement, investment allocations etc
* Propose areas of improvement to ensure financial practices and procedures are effective, innovative and standardised within best practices
* Assist in the group recharge process, charging and settling intercompany recharges, reconciling relevant documentation and communicating with the local teams to confirm and investigate variances from budget
* Lead or contribute in ad hoc duties and projects as they arise within the team
Role Requirements
* Finalist/Newly Qualified accountant: ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent certification;
* Experience in the Financial Services industry (preferably life assurance);
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with finance representatives across the group;
* Awareness of control environments within financial systems and ability to address weakness;
* Fundamental knowledge in the preparation of financial statements and IFRS/FRS would be desirable;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central system accounts and Microsoft Office suite of applications is an advantage;
* Flexibility, adaptability, prioritisation and effective work management skills are essential.
