Job Title: Supportive Teaching Assistant for Primary School in North Birmingham
We are seeking an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant primary school community in the North of Birmingham. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and excellent behaviour management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and planning lessons in the absence of the teacher
* Providing classroom support across EYFS, KS1 & KS2
* Running focused 1:1 and small group interventions
* Supporting SEN(D) children when required
* Supporting with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading
* Collaborating with teaching staff to support learning outcomes
* Contributing to behaviour management and pupil well-being
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* HLTA status or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification
* Demonstrated experience in primary settings (UK-based)
* Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
* Excellent behaviour management and adaptability
* A proactive, positive mindset and a passion for working with children
* Confident delivering lessons independently when required
* Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is preferred
* Willingness to support pupils with additional needs and personal care if needed
